In June 2018, our founder Oleta Forde was chosen to become a #LitterHeroes Ambassador for Keep Britain Tidy.
Keep Britain Tidy is an independent charity which registered in 1960, with three goals – to eliminate litter, end waste and improve places.
The role of a #LitterHeroes Ambassador is to inspire others and take action to clean up our country. You may have heard of Wayne and his dog Koda, who are travelling around the UK coastline litter picking, raising awareness and supporting his charity MIND. Wayne has been walking since February 2016. Wayne and Koda became the first Keep Britain Tidy #LitterHeroes Ambassadors. Keep Britain Tidy have since selected a few more #LitterHeroes Ambassadors, chosen for the great things they have achieved so far and their plans for the future.
As a #LitterHeroes Ambassador, Oleta hopes to continue to encourage people out to Plymouth’s coastline to collect litter and is excited at the challenge to increase the community effort to look after Britain’s Ocean City.
Keep an eye on Plymouth Beach Clean events as every year Keep Britain Tidy runs the Great British Spring Clean and in 2019 we will be taking part for the first time.
